Although it may seem like a new fashion, home education is nothing new. Indeed, one could call it the original education before the existence of compulsory schooling. A key to successful home education is understanding that the daily routine for homeschoolers differs substantially from school life. If you would like your child to sit at a desk from 9 AM to 3 PM then you are better off sending your child to school.
The beauty of home education is being able to tailor the experience to the individual students. Everybody learns differently and when students are given the opportunity to experience a learning environment that understands their needs, success is almost guaranteed. This tailored learning environment furthermore allows students to be in control of their own learning trajectory, which supports their independence and increases their confidence in their own abilities. This approach is reflected in my home education planning, as independent students need less tutoring compared to students who are reliant on teachers.
I offer different home education plans that are designed to assist and support students and parents through this journey. All plans include a bespoke education pathway plan for each student, where we work together to design the perfect learning roadmap with learning objectives and outcomes for each term. The plan is fully bespoke and can be as structured or free flowing to suit every student’s needs.
Each plan has dedicated contact hours which can be used for consultancy, mentoring and tutoring. After each term, I check the development and ensure both students and parents are happy with the level of progress. Taking the report into consideration, the education pathway plan is adapted accordingly for the next term.
I hold a monthly online home education information evening where I introduce my methods, the benefits of home education and answer any questions you may have. It is also a wonderful opportunity to talk to other parents who are in the middle of making the same decisions as you. If you would like to join us, please subscribe to my newsletter below where you will be informed about upcoming information evening dates.
